Project active, Hillbrook's co-curricular activity program, provides plenty of opportunities for students to pursue new interests and hobbies and to mix with students from all year levels.
The benefits of regular activity are well documented - an increased sense of belonging and achievement, increased physical and mental ability and a better self image. Project Active is compulsory for students in Years 7, 8 and 9 to encourage development of specific skills. Most activities occur before or after school and some take place on weekends.
Semester 1, 2018 - Project Active Options
Activities for both Term 1 and 2 are now available for selection. Please login to Parent Lounge to select and pay for an activity.
We will notify parents of any updates or changes to Project Active activities via the Hillbrook app, so be ensure you have downloaded this to your phone. It is available on both iTunes and Google Play.
If you are in Years 7, 8 or 9 it is expected that you participate in one Project Active activity each semester, as a minimum. In Years 10, 11 and 12 these activities are voluntary.
Attendance to the weekly sessions is compulsory and will be marked on the roll each week. If you are sick or unable to attend a session, you must advise Project Active Coordinator, Kristy Boyle (via email) explaining your absence.
Remember, your participation in school-run co-curricular activities is marked on your student involvement file.
Parents will select an activity on behalf of their child from the range of options listed on Parent Lounge.
Payment is made at the time of selecting an activity from the options available in Parent Lounge.
Groups are formed on a first-in basis and activities can only be run if minimum numbers are reached. As a result, activities may be cancelled from time to time. In this circumstance parents will be emailed and credited the activity fee.
You will find more information on each activity, currently available, in the schedule below. Please contact the Project Active Coordinator, Kristy Boyle (via email), with any further queries.
Students who are heavily involved in a physical activity/sport on a regular basis with interschool teams or outside of school can be excused from participation at the discretion of the Project Active Coordinator, Kristy Boyle.
