We believe in fun and play-based learning here at Hillbrook Early Learning Centre  and strive to provide a safe and caring environment that fosters experimentation, investigation & agency. We recognise the importance of developing the whole child – physically, socially, cognitively, emotionally and spiritually while fulfilling Hillbrook’s motto of “In Balance We Grow”.

We offer 25 places for children from six (6) weeks to school age, across two multi-aged rooms:

  • Our Tadpole room has a maximum of 8 children, aged between 6 weeks and 3 years with two educators.
  • The Tree Frog room consists of 16 children aged 3 – 5 years with two educators. Our Tree Frog room offers a Queensland Government Approved Kindergarten Program for all children who turn 4 years of age before 30 June in the current year.

The Hillbrook Early Learning Centre (ELC) is a workplace childcare centre for Hillbrook, run by the Hillbrook Foundation and preference for permanent childcare places is given to the children of the school staff (teaching and support staff).

The Centre opens from 7.30am to 4.30pm Monday – Friday during school term times, 41 weeks each year except for public holidays.

The ELC is closed during Queensland state school holidays, consisting of a 2-week vacation at Easter, 2 weeks June/July, 2 weeks in September/October and 5 weeks during the December/January period.

Our unique centre location, on Hillbrook School campus, allows us to explore the school grounds, which provides exciting educational experiences and a sense of belonging in a caring community.
