Reconciliation Action Plan
Acknowledgement of Country
Our Hillbrook community acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the Lands where we live and learn, the Turrbal, Yaggera and Ugurapul people, whose cultures and customs have nurtured and continue to nurture this place we call home. This Land is, was and always will be, Aboriginal Land.
Our RAP Vision Statement
Our community acknowledges, respects and celebrates the cultures and heritage of Indigenous Australia.
Our RAP Mission Statement
We will remember, learn from and engage with our nation’s history, and deepen our understanding of culture and country; fostering respectful relationships and working towards an equal and positive shared future.
Hillbrook’s Reconciliation Action Plan follows the Narragunnawali platform for schools and includes:
- fostering respect of Indigenous culture
- looking for opportunities to engage with and support Indigenous people
- providing practical ways to introduce meaningful reconciliation initiatives in the classroom.
The RAP is supported by a working group of teachers, support staff, students and other members of the Hillbrook community who meet each term.
